Tell us about your background. How did you end up at Pledge? π
I worked at an education nonprofit in Chicago on the operations and development team. About a year in, the pandemic hit and we had to pivot our model from a traditional in-person gala structure of fundraising to virtual - within a day. Our organization got introduced to Pledge during the launch of the Zoom app, and we ran two amazing community-based events using the platform. Through that process, I met the Pledge team and saw the passion and joy that the team had, and knew I wanted to be a part of it
What's your favorite part of your job?
I love working with our external partners, developing relationships, and creating massive impact across their platforms!
Our mission is to Power Generosity. What perspective do you bring to Pledge, our partners, our products, &/or our industry?
I come from a family of teachers, educators, social workers, and general do-gooders. From a young age, I was always taught that we are here to make a difference, to leave the world a little better than we left it, and to uplift the voices of those who've been pushed out or silenced. I always keep that at the heart of my work at Pledge. Generosity begets generosity.
What's a project you've worked on at Pledge that you really enjoyed or felt was really meaningful?
This is very timely, but I've spent the past 3ish months working with our partners at Warner Bros. Discovery to launch an amazing campaign in conjunction with a major motion picture (Barbie: The Movie!). It's been so cool to work with pretty much every member of our team, as well as develop and champion the relationships built over nearly seven years with the team at WBD.
What causes are you most interested in &/or care most about it?
I care deeply about mental health access, specifically for LGBTQ+ youth and other marginalized communities.
What brings you joy outside of work?
I've been singing with a choir for the past two years (shout out to Windy City Treble Quire), and I just joined a queer kickball team here in LA! Outside of that, I love to spend time with family, read, write poetry, and watch women's soccer.
What is your #PledgeToDoGood statement?
I #PledgeTo champion mental health access for young people π§ π
